We are always on the lookout for families who wish to give back to the club.
As we all know... many hands make light work!
Meetings are usually the first Wednesday of each month Feb-Nov inclusive and can be attended virtually or in person at the pub (currently the Post Office Hotel). We have an end of year Christmas dinner in lieu of the December meeting, and no meetings in January as most people are away.
We are a very friendly and understanding bunch so we are able to be flexible when the 'wheels fall off' with illness etc at home.
We are always on the lookout for some fabulous humans to fill the following roles as all positions will be vacated and re-appointed each AGM:
NIMBA Committee Positions
President
NIMBA’s President leads our strategic direction, chairs monthly meetings, and represents us with AMBA and local partners. This role suits someone who has spent time on the committee and is ready to step up – someone who enjoys the big picture and gets satisfaction from helping a committed team do its best work.
Time commitment: Around 3–5 hours per week, with peaks at the AGM (May) and annual planning (June).
Vice President
Want to support NIMBA's leadership without taking the front seat? The Vice President backs up the President, steps in as chair when needed, and takes on strategic work – reviewing grants, representing NIMBA at community meetings, and helping other coordinators when they're stuck. A flexible role you can shape around your strengths.
Time commitment: Around 1–3 hours per week, more when deputising for the President.
Secretary
The Secretary is the organisational backbone of our committee. You'll run the monthly meeting cycle, maintain governance records, and handle our regulatory obligations with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits-Commission and Consumer Affairs Victoria. If you are organised, reliable, and good with administrative detail, this is a role where your contribution is genuinely felt.
Time commitment: Around 2–3 hours per week, with peaks around meetings (February to November) and the AGM.
Treasurer
NIMBA's Treasurer keeps the books accurate and the committee well-informed. You'll reconcile transactions in Xero, produce monthly financial reports, and prepare the annual financial statements. You don't need to be an accountant – you need to be methodical, careful with money, and willing to learn our tools.
Time commitment: Around 2–3 hours per week, with peaks at the end of the financial year (March) and the AGM.
Membership Secretary
The Membership Secretary is often the first voice a new NIMBA family hears. You'll manage member records in TidyHQ, send welcoming communications, and make sure people feel genuinely connected from day one. Warm, organised, and consistent – if that sounds like you, this role is worth considering.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week, with slightly higher demand during peak joining periods.
Events Coordinator
Love a well-run event? NIMBA's Events Coordinator plans and coordinates our social and educational calendar – from parent information evenings to the Christmas party. You won't do it all yourself; you'll plan, coordinate, and delegate, drawing on volunteers and committee members to make things happen.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week in quieter periods, rising to 5+ hours in the weeks around each event.
Playgroup Coordinator
NIMBA's playgroups are where families come together in a room where having twins or triplets is just normal. As Playgroup Coordinator you'll host one monthly session – setting up, running it, and packing down. It's hands-on, warm, and one of the most direct ways to contribute to the community we're building. Three positions available, one per venue/day.
Time commitment: Around 3–4 hours on session day, plus an hour of prep and follow-up. One session per month.
Loan Library Coordinator
NIMBA lends baby gear to new families – the things you need for a few months but don't want to buy twice. The Loan Library Coordinator manages the inventory, organises loans and returns, and keeps items safe and available. A practical, self-contained role with a clear and visible impact.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week, depending on loan volume.
Newsletter Editor
Someone needs to pull Noah's Ark together each month – maybe that's you. The Newsletter Editor gathers content from across the committee, writes and edits, and gets the newsletter out the door on time. No design skills needed; visual layout is handled separately. You just need to write clearly and hit a monthly deadline.
Time commitment: Around 4–6 hours concentrated around production each month.
Social Media Coordinator
NIMBA's Social Media Coordinator manages our Facebook and Instagram presence – posting regularly, promoting events, and moderating the members-only group. If you know your way around both platforms and can commit to a steady, reliable posting rhythm rather than a burst-and-disappear approach, this one's for you.
Time commitment: Around 2–3 hours per week.
Communications Coordinator
If you have a design eye and a feel for clear, consistent communication, the Communications Coordinator role might suit you well. You'll create event flyers, social tiles, and onboarding materials in Canva, maintain NIMBA's visual brand, and handle media enquiries in consultation with the President.
Time commitment: Variable – around 2 hours per week, more when event collateral is in production.
Expectant Parent Coordinator
NIMBA's Expectant Parent sessions are often the first time parents-to-be with multiples meet others who genuinely understand. As coordinator, you'll run in-person sessions every two months or so, booking speakers and guiding families through what's ahead. One of our most direct health promotion activities – and one of the most rewarding.
Time commitment: Around 4–5 hours per session, held approximately every six weeks.
New Parent Coordinator
The New Parent Coordinator sits at the heart of NIMBA's postnatal support. You'll coordinate Meals for Multiples – home-cooked meal drops to families in the first weeks home – as well as Neighbourhood Networks and Bubs and Bumps lunches. You'll also help identify families who may need a bit of extra support and make sure they hear from someone. This role requires genuine empathy, good discretion, and the ability to mobilise a small network of willing volunteers..
Time commitment: Around 2–3 hours per week on an ongoing basis. Two positions available.
Fundraising Coordinator
The Bunnings BBQ won't run itself. NIMBA's Fundraising Coordinator plans and delivers our fundraising activities – securing prizes and sponsorships, coordinating volunteers on the day, and making sure the money adds up at the end. A social, energetic role that's quieter most of the year with concentrated effort around each event.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week in quieter periods, 8–10 hours in the weeks around each activity.
Grants Coordinator
NIMBA's programs depend on grant funding, and the Grants Coordinator is the person who goes and gets it. You'll scan for opportunities, write applications with input from program leads, and manage acquittals once grants are awarded. Strong writing skills and a reliable approach to deadlines are the main requirements.
Time commitment: Around 1-2 hour per week outside grant season, rising to 5–8 hours during active application periods.
Technology Coordinator
NIMBA's Technology Coordinator keeps our digital tools – Google Workspace, TidyHQ, the website, and more – running and secure. You'll manage accounts and access, maintain the site, conduct regular security reviews, and support committee members who need a hand with their setup. No developer skills required – just comfort across cloud platforms and good security habits.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week, with peaks around post-AGM onboarding and offboarding.
