Welcome to our Merri-bek playgroup for NIMBA families with kids of all ages. We meet on the last Saturday of the month, in a location in Coburg that has a great selection of toys, a lovely open space, and outdoor play area and a kitchenette for all your caffeine related needs.  We welcome the whole NIMBA community to come along and meet up with other families of multiples. Whether you are expecting, have small babies, energetic toddlers, a grandparent or aunt helping out, or singleton siblings, we would love to see you! With thanks to the Merri-bek City Council, NIMBA has allocated funding from the Strengthening Communities Grant towards some fantastic additions to our playgroup. Each session, we will have tea and coffee, biscuits, and a selection of fresh fruit for all to enjoy. We also invite special guests to lead our group in enrichment activities to support our kids development and burn of some of their abundant energy!  NIMBA playgroups are for our members. The location is shared in our members only Facebook group NIMBA Group. Online Webinar: Sleeping & Settling Toddlers (13-36 months)

Dr Laura Conway of Infant Sleep Australia will cover sleep & settling for some of our youngest NIMBA members - our toddlers (12 - 36 months). With thanks to the Inger Rice Foundation, this session will cover information about sleep in toddlers aged 12 - 36 months, common sleep difficulties (eg bedtime resistance, split nights) and provide practical strategies to address these difficulties tailored to families with multiples. The presentation will run for approximately 45mins plus up to 30mins for Q&A. - Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, first class honours and a PhD in Early Childhood Development. She is an Honorary Fellow at the Department of Paediatrics, University of Melbourne, and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Royal Children’s Hospital. She is a mother of two.  - Dr Laura Conway (PhD) is passionate about supporting parents whose babies have sleep problems. She draws on her expertise in early child development and paediatric sleep to work alongside families to address their child’s sleep difficulties. Laura ensures the latest research evidence is embedded in the advice and support she provides to families. Laura can help children aged 0-5 who: - have problems settling to sleep, - wake frequently overnight, - resist going to bed e.g., using stalling tactics, or - wake up too early in the morning. Laura enjoys helping parents to improve their child’s sleep and watching the positive changes that follow for the whole family. Education Event : Breastfeeding Multiples with Simone Casey

Expectant parents and new parents welcome — bring your bubs! Ever been to a breastfeeding info session that covers all the tips for feeding one baby, but leaves you wondering how on earth to manage feeding two (or more)? You're not alone — and this session is for you! Whether you’re still expecting or your babies have already arrived, join us for a supportive, practical, and honest session all about feeding multiples — from the early days and beyond. Venue details are shared on the Facebook Event for members. If you don't have access to our Facebook event, please email events@nimba.amba.org.au for further information.   The Presenter: Simone brings a wealth of knowledge and experience supporting families with twins and more. She’ll guide you through what feeding might look like in the early days depending on gestation, birth weight, and feeding goals — whether that’s exclusive breastfeeding, mixed feeding, or a combination that works for your family.  The Session: Simone’s talk will be divided into two parts:  Schedule: *Antenatal (1:00 - 2.00pm): Preparing for feeding, understanding what to expect, and planning ahead * Break (2:00pm - 2:15pm) *Postnatal (2:15 – 3:30 PM) : Practical tips, positions, gadgets, and real-life strategies for feeding two babies at once *Questions (3:30 – 4:00 PM) : Question time! We’ll explore: - Setting up for feeds - Holding and positioning two babies - Managing supply for multiples - Useful equipment and gadgets - When and how to express or combine feeds - Realistic support you may need  Questions? NIMBA expectant parent sessions are approximately 2 hours long and a great way of preparing you for the arrival of your babies. We cover topics such as.... - Planning for the arrival of your multiples - Your hospital stay - Coming home and the early days with your multiples - What equipment you will (and won't) need - Getting help and support - Breast and bottle feeding - Routines - Getting out and about with your multiples It's also a great way to meet other parents expecting multiples. The session is open to mums, dads, partners, grandparents and anyone who might help you in the early days with your twins or triplets.

Join us for a Monday morning playgroup in Coburg. Come along to connect and play with other families of multiples. All ages welcome, we’ll have mats & toys for babies, and plenty of toys for the bigs. All are welcome, the more the merrier (and noisier!)
