Dr Laura Conway of Infant Sleep Australia will cover sleep & settling for our youngest NIMBA members (those aged up to 12 months). A seperate session for Toddlers is scheduled for May 13th. With thanks to the Inger Rice Foundation, this session will cover information about sleep in babies aged 0-12months, common sleep difficulties (eg frequent wakes, irregular schedules) and provide practical strategies to address these difficulties tailored to families with multiples. The presentation will run for approximately 45mins plus up to 30mins for Q&A. - Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, first class honours and a PhD in Early Childhood Development. She is an Honorary Fellow at the Department of Paediatrics, University of Melbourne, and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Royal Children’s Hospital. She is a mother of two. - Dr Laura Conway (PhD) is passionate about supporting parents whose babies have sleep problems. She draws on her expertise in early child development and paediatric sleep to work alongside families to address their child’s sleep difficulties. Laura ensures the latest research evidence is embedded in the advice and support she provides to families. Laura can help children aged 0-5 who: - have problems settling to sleep, - wake frequently overnight, - resist going to bed e.g., using stalling tactics, or - wake up too early in the morning. Laura enjoys helping parents to improve their child’s sleep and watching the positive changes that follow for the whole family. She helps tired parents build strong relationships with their babies and children.

Ever been to an info session that helpfully shares all the tips of feeding a singleton baby with no tips on the juggling act that is feeding multiples!? Whether you are expecting or your babies have already arrived this event is for you!! The presenter: Simone Casey is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) of 14 years, works in a private inner city hospital and runs her own consultancy in the inner northern suburbs supporting new mums in their breastfeeding journeys, including many twin clients. The session: Simone’s session will cover a picture of what multiple feeding in the early days may look like, depending on the gestation and size of the babies and the variations that come with that. This may include exclusive breastfeeding or mixed feeding. We will discuss your feeding goals, tips and tricks on how to set-up, feed and hold two babies at once, any gadgets that may help you manage and an idea of what practical help and support you will need along the way. Support is available! I'm pleased to share that we have 4 of our super NIMBA volunters attending this session purely to help out anyone with little bubs. We welcome you to come along and bring your babies, and we remember all the challenges of getting places with multiple babies in tow, so those of us that are coming to lend a hand will be there to assist in any way we can!
